Jonathan Holt comes to East Carolina after a successful prep career at West Forsyth High School where he was a three-year starter for coach Randy Pope. As a three-time all-conference and two-time all-county selection, Holt helped the Titans to a 21-4 record as a senior where he batted .380 with eight home runs and 39 RBI.

After a successful junior campaign where he batted .310 with five home runs, 31 RBI and slugged .493, Holt was selected to participate in the N.C. State Games and was a participant in the World Wood Bat Association Championships. He garnered honorable mention All-America honors from the Perfect Game and was ranked as the No. 19 senior prospect in North Carolina by Impact Baseball and No. 22 by PGCrosschecker.

Off the field, Holt was a two-time National Honor Society member and three-time student-of-the-year. During his first semester at ECU, he was one of four freshmen named to the ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll in the fall with a 3.0 GPA. sat down with Holt for a quick 15 Question segment:

3.       Best athlete I've played against (any sport): Tyler Hanover (junior infielder at LSU)

4.       If I had to play another sport at ECU it would be: Ultimate Frisbee

5.       If I were a superhero I'd be: Aqua Man

6.       My favorite sports announcer is: Brent Musburger

7.       My favorite cartoon/TV show as a child was: Justice League

8.       My favorite toy as a child: Tonka Trucks

9.       My favorite midnight snack: Captain Crunch

10.   If I was not playing my sport I would be: An engineer

11.   The thing I like most about ECU is: The atmosphere

12.   My advice to youngsters is: Work hard and pay attention to the little things

13.   My biggest frustration has been: My footwork

14.   My favorite Pro-Sports team is: Boston Red Sox

15.   I was so clueless when I started out that: I once put my pants on backwards

Did You Know?

Jonathan's brother Greg is a relief pitcher and three-year letterwinner at the University of North Carolina. Last summer Greg was invited to participate in the team trials with the USA Collegiate National Team in Cary, N.C.
