East Carolina University baseball fans will get their first chance to meet the 2012 Pirates up close and personal on Saturday, January 28, as ECU hosts its 12th Annual "Meet the Pirates" luncheon.
Scheduled to start at approximately 11 a.m. at the Murphy Center's Harvey Banquet Hall, "Meet the Pirates" offers fans a chance to get autographs and photos of the ECU baseball team and seventh-year head coach Billy Godwin, as well as enjoy a catered lunch with the Pirate coaches and players. As with tradition at the annual event, Godwin will announce the ninth recipient of the honorary No. 23 jersey, which was the number worn by the late ECU Head Coach Keith LeClair throughout his coaching and playing career.
A limited number of tickets are available at $10 for adults, $5 for children (17 and under), and $5 for ECU students (with valid One Card) and advance reservations are required.
Tickets will go on sale January 5 and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Friday, January 20 (or until sold out). Fans can reserve their seats by ordering online at www.ECUPirates.com or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at (252) 737-4500.
After lunch, ECU fans are encouraged to head over to Clark-LeClair Stadium to enjoy a Pirate Baseball intra-squad scrimmage.
The Pirates will open the 2012 campaign at home against UW Milwaukee with a first pitch scheduled for Friday, February 17 at 3 p.m. For ticket information, call (252) 737-4500.
