Paint it Purple
Pirate fans are encouraged to wear purple and
gold to games and to enthusiastically support the Pirates in good
sportsmanshiplike fashion. All spectators are urged to arrive at their
seats at least 30 minutes before kick-off. As a courtesy to other
spectators, fans are asked to avoid leaving their seats until between
quarters, halftime, or the end of the game. To best support your
football team, be at the stadium early to participate in the team
entrance and remain in your seats until the game has ended.

Ticket Purchases
Tickets for all ECU athletic contests can be purchased
through the Athletic Ticket Office Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets
on the day of an ECU home football game can also be purchased on an
availability basis through ticket windows located at Minges Coliseum. Tickets can be purchased 24 hours a day here online.

Artificial Noisemakers
At no time will fans be allowed to use whistles, airhorns, or electronically amplified noisemakers.
|
Tickets
All persons, including children, must have a ticket for admission to
Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Infants in arms do not require a ticket as long as they do not take up a seat. Spectators be advised that East
Carolina student tickets are for use only by ECU students upon
presentation of a valid University One Card. Tickets cannot be resold at the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium site.

Alcoholic Beverages
Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited within the stadium as per
North Carolina Statutes. (Also see Stadium Entry Inspection.)

Ticket Stubs
Ticket holders should be prepared to show their tickets to
ushers prior to, during the game, and/or at halftime to gain access to
seating sections.

Banners/Flags
Banners hung in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium must be pre-approved by calling (252)
737-4530 by 5:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the day of the game. For the
convenience and safety of all fans, flags on poles are not permitted in
Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

Readmittance
There is a "no readmittance" policy in effect at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
|
Containers/Coolers
No outside containers (cans, plastic bottles, etc.), coolers, or food items are permitted in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
|
Refunds/Resale
Lost or stolen tickets are not the responsibility of management, and
additional tickets can be obtained through the ticket office. There is
a No Cash Refund policy in effect on all tickets. The management
reserves the right to refuse admission.
|
Conduct
The management of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium reserves the right to
eject patrons from the stadium for intoxication, drug use, foul or
abusive language, throwing objects inside the stadium or any other conduct which is not conducive to a
family atmosphere as determined by East Carolina University.

Will Call
Will Call will be located at the outside windows at Minges Coliseum.
Will Call opens at 9 a.m. on game day. Identification is required
before tickets will be released. Visiting team Will Call tickets are
available at Stadium Gate B (Service Gate) when the visiting team arrives at
Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, which is usually two hours before game time. The
Press Will Call window is located at the Minges Coliseum Ticket Windows.

First Aid
A First Aid facility is located under the North Stands
beneath Section 19 and beneath Section 217 in the upper deck with a
nurse on duty at all times. Rescue squad units are located at both ends
of the field.

Gate Information
For direct and efficient access to your seat(s), please enter
the stadium through the gate indicated on your ticket. East Carolina
students are to enter gates designated for their use. See stadium diagram. Stadium gates are open two (2) hours before kick-off.

Lost?
Lost patrons and persons looking for lost patrons should
proceed immediately to the Police Command Post located at the Southeast end of
the stadium near Service Gate A.
|
Game Times
All game times and dates are subject to change. ECU will publicize any
game time changes. Ticket refunds will not be made because of a change
in schedule of the kick-off time.

Lost and Found
A "Lost & Found" station is set up near Service Gate A at the scoreboard end
of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. If you find an item, please turn it in to the
attendant at the station. All items not claimed will be available
Monday by calling (252) 328-6787.
|
Pre-Game Excitement
Teams take Bagwell Field for pre-game warm-ups approximately
one hour prior to game time. Pre-game festivities including the
Marching Pirates and the team entrance begin approximately 20
minutes prior to kick-off.
|
Public Address System
No appeals will be made over the public address system except under
extraordinary conditions. The public is asked not to request this
service.
|
Americans With Disabilities Act
Requests for accommodations related to disabilities need to
be made to the Athletic Ticket Office at (252) 328-4500. Requests must
be made at least 48 hours prior to the event.

Public Telephones
Telephones for public use are conveniently located under Section 6 and under Section 17.
|
Medically Approved Disabled Parking
Parking for handicapped persons is available near the stadium
on both the East and West sides. This area offers space on a
first-come, first-served basis. Patrons must display the required
handicapped parking permit to park in this area. If additional
information is needed, please call (252) 737-4694.

Refreshments
Concession stands and vendors are located throughout the stadium, offering a variety of Pepsi products, as well as hot dogs, pizza, Johnsonville sausage, Dippin Dots, nachos, and other freshly prepared items. Stadium concessions are operated by Aramark.
***UPDATE*** Aramark is now accepting Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards at most locations throughout the ECU Pirate athletic venues.

Handicapped/Wheelchair Access
Entrances for the handicapped are located at Gates 1, 6, and
7. Seating to accommodate wheelchair spectators is located on the South
and North sides of the stadium. Seating in these areas is limited.
Tickets are issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one
attendance per wheelchair patron permitted.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located throughout the stadium. Porta-johns are
located in the parking lots for use prior to and after the game. All
restrooms are handicapped accessible in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.

Ushers
Requests for Assistance should be directed to stadium ushers, located at every entrance way throughout the stadium.
|
Smoking
No smoking is permitted in the seating areas of the stadium. Smoking is only permitted in the open areas underneath the North and South
stands and the open concourse area beneath the upper deck seating of
Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Smoking is not permitted in the seating areas,
stairwells, restrooms, and any enclosed area of the stadium.

Security
Uniformed police and event security are located throughout Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and surrounding parking lots.
|
Solicitation/Flyers
Solicitations in or surrounding Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, including parking areas, is prohibited.
|
Sideline Access
Only authorized personnel with proper credentials will be permitted on the field before, during or after a game. No one under 21 may use this pass unless accompanied by a full time ECU Athletic Department Employee.

Stadium Entry Inspection
For the safety of all spectators, anyone entering
Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium is subject to having their bags, pocket books,
camera bags, etc., inspected by staff security. Entry may be refused to
individuals failing to allow inspections.

Souvenirs
Dowdy Student Stores souvenir stands are conveniently located in the stadium, offering a variety of Officially Licensed East Carolina University souvenirs, featuring jerseys, hats, sweatshirts, footballs, pom-poms and seat cushions. Dowdy Student Stores accepts Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards at all their locations inside ECU Pirate athletic venues.
***UPDATE*** Distribution, Solicitation and Selling on Game Day: selling (merchandise, food etc), the distribution of promotional materials and/or solicitation of funds is NOT permitted on university property. This includes all ECU operated parking lots and university property surrounding all athletic facilities, before, during or after East Carolina athletic contests. East Carolina University will work in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies to address the unauthorized distribution of unlicensed East Carolina University merchandise through the use of North Carolina General Statutes 80-11.1.

Umbrellas
As a courtesy to the majority of spectators, umbrellas are not permitted in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
