IRVING, Texas - A total of 321 student-athletes have earned the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal during the 2006-07 academic year, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced today. The medals are given to those C-USA student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.

East Carolina had 34 student-athletes achieve a cumulative 3.75 GPA or better. The women's soccer team had six recipients, while the men's golf team and softball team each landed four student-athletes on the list.

Tulsa had the most academic medal winners with 47, followed by Memphis with 36. The total number of academic medal recipients increased by more than 30 percent this season.
