Dancers Selected For 2014-15 Squad

The East Carolina University Department of Athletics is proud to announce the dancers who will make up the 2014-15 ECU Dance Team. The final roster was determined following auditions, which were held April 26.
"The ladies that participated in tryouts did not disappoint with their amount of experience, spirit and enthusiasm for ECU and the chance to be a member of the dance team," head coach Kristin Jeffries said."I am looking forward to a great season with a group of young ladies who are excited to perform and cheer on our teams and who will represent the University in a positive manner."
The 2014-15 ECU Dance Team consists of a diverse squad of 20 dancers, featuring 14 returnees and six newcomers. Performing as a part of the squad will be veterans Mitchell Chrismon (Raleigh), Katy Ezzell (Trinity), Emily Gerringer (Elon), Shanise Little (Concord), Jenna Milavec (Charlotte), Ali Molitor (Greenwood, Ind.), Melanie White (Rocky Mount), Keliegh Britt (Clifton, Va.), Brittany Thornton (Raleigh), Emma Wells (Laurinburg), Anna Maria Dunn (New Bern), Alessandra Gironda (Southern Pines), Danielle Goltermann (Winterville), Haley King (Elon) and Mallory Strange (Burlington). Joining the veterans this season are freshmen Alex Barlow (Kannapolis), Savanna Good (Huntersville), Jenna Harbour (Mount Holly), Ashley Helms (Kannapolis) and Jenna Johnson (Benson).
Each dancer was judged on six technical skills: triple pirouette, a la seconde leap, switch leap, toe touch, pom motions and multiple counts of fouette or a la seconde turns. In addition each dancer performed a jazz and hip-hop routine along with a pom routine, while doing a personal interview.
Gerringer, Little and Milavec were selected to serve as team captains.
