GREENVILLE, N.C. --- East Carolina alumna Erica Wilson has been hired as Assistant Director of the Pirate Club announced Executive Director Mark Wharton on Tuesday. Wilson will participate in the overall fund-raising strategies of the Pirate Club and serve as liaison between chapter members and staff.

"As a former ECU student-athlete, Erica understands the total student-athlete experience and will do an excellent job of incorporating that perspective in her role as Assistant Director with the Pirate Club," Wharton said. "We are pleased to have someone of Erica's caliber coming back to East Carolina University."

Wilson, a four-year letterman on the Pirate volleyball team, returns to ECU after spending the past 17 months as Director of Membership and Convention Services for the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) in Wilmington. She was responsible for the recruitment of members and securing sponsors and exhibitors for the annual convention, while serving as a liaison with members.

She was promoted at the NACWAA following a nine-month internship with the organization.

Wilson also served as a volunteer for the Cape Fear Chapter of the ECU Pirate Club, assisting with the recruitment of new members and coordination of fundraising efforts for the local chapter.

She graduated Cum Laude from ECU in 2006 with a business degree and later earned her master's degree in sports management.
