WBCN-AM will broadcast Pirate football in Charlotte this season

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Live game broadcasts of East Carolina Football will be carried in the Charlotte market in 2009 and for the next two years on WBCN-AM "America's Talk 1660," formerly WFNA-AM, station officials and ISP Sports, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for East Carolina Athletics, have announced.

WBCN's initial broadcast on the Pirate ISP Sports Network is Saturday (Sept. 5) when defending Conference USA champion ECU hosts Appalachian State. "The East Carolina Bank Pregame Show" airs at 11 a.m. with kickoff scheduled for 12 noon in the first meeting between the Pirates and Mountaineers since 1979.

"We are very excited to be carrying ECU football games," D.J. Stout, Operations Manager and Program Director for WBCN, said. "ECU is truly a program on the rise with a great fan base in Charlotte. We're thrilled that the Pirate fans in Charlotte can now hear every ECU football game on WBCN."
