To the Pirate Nation:

After a long month on the road, the Pirate football team returns to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and will expect the Pirate Nation to be "Ruff and Ready!" to be "Rowdy in Dowdy!"

An important piece of the first-class game atmosphere that has been created by the Pirate Nation has been the welcoming and hospitable environment for visiting fans. We know what we think of institutions that have treated our fans poorly and we also know how many friends our welcoming atmosphere has created for ECU.

Our coaches have recently begun reporting very positive visits with recruits who visited ECU in the last few years when their brother or sister played here. Now that little sister or little brother is the recruit, they and their families remember the welcome provided to them as visitors by the Pirate Nation.

Many NC State fans as well as their band will be winding their way through the crowd to the stadium. Take advantage of the opportunity to welcome them to the heart of the Pirate Nation.

NC State is having a great season and our team will be well prepared for the game. All the ingredients for a classic rivalry game are in place - outstanding and exciting players on both teams, terrific coaches on each sideline and the best game atmosphere in college football.

The team will need every ounce of your energy focused on the playing field and cheering for Pirates on every play. Each member of the Pirate Nation has a role to play so be prepared for your opportunity to make a difference on Saturday.

GO PIRATES!
