East Carolina Athletics, ECAL Announce Partnership

Nov. 20, 2013

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina University Department of Athletics has announced a partnership with ECAL that will enable Pirate fans to be the first across the country at the NCAA level to have immediate access to a dynamic calendar marketing platform.

ECAL (www.ecal.net) is owned and developed by E-DIARY, an Australian-based technology company that has already established a successful presence in the U.S. with professional organizations such as the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, St. Louis Rams, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks, Major League Soccer (MLS), Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and Turner Sports to name a few.

While ECAL is currently in negotiations with five other college programs, East Carolina is the first to launch the product among its peers.

Pirate fans will be able to easily add their favorite sports schedules directly into their personal calendar, whether it be on a smartphone, tablet, computer or even Facebook. ECAL's technology and service extends much deeper past the initial download as users will be kept updated on any event changes or special announcements, allowing everyone to stay connected with ECU Athletics - anywhere, anytime on any device.

"The transition from pro sports to the college segment is hugely exciting for us," ECAL Founder & CEO Patrick Barrett said. "Passion lives deeply in college sports, and to be able to work with an innovative and progressive university like East Carolina, and to power the Pirates ECAL for their fans and alumni is a great milestone for our business."

ECAL tackles a shifting need for modern consumers, who are more mobile and social than ever, and highly value the ability to choose their content, and have it delivered directly into their preferred personal device.
