Kathleen "Kathy" Postlewait played vollyball, field hockey, and golf at East Carolina
and went on to earn national recognition as a professional golfer.
When Postlewait arrived at East Carolina, she put all her energy into school but her
love of golf took over in her junior year. Her golf activities were severely limited. ECU
didn't even have a women's team so Postlewait competed alone.
While in college, she competed in the U.S. Women's Amateur representing East
Carolina. After graduation, she went on to join the Ladies Professional Golf Association
tour (LPGA) and in 1983, Postlewait earned her first LPGA tour victory at the San Jose
Classic.
