Ken Midyette made the most of his East Carolina diving career from 1957 to 1959, earning All-America honors and NAIA champion status.

In 1956, Midyette was second in the one-meter dive at the NAIA meet as the East Carolina team won the National Championship.

The 1957 and '58 seasons saw ECU's diving team go undefeated as Midyette won his first NAIA diving championship in one-meter diving.

As a senior in the 1958-59 season, Midyette again claimed the NAIA diving championship, finishing first in one-meter diving. That year, ECU finished first in the NAIA. With the win, Midyette earned his third All-America honor of his career.
