GREENVILLE, N.C. - Pirate fans will get their first glimpse of the East Carolina volleyball team Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 4 p.m. as the squad holds a Purple-Gold Scrimmage inside Minges Coliseum. Admission to the event is free.
"We are excited to play in a match-like setting in front of Pirate Nation," fourth-year head coach Julie Torbett said. "We do not have our home opener until Sept. 30 this season so this is a chance for our fans to see what we have been working on during our preseason practices."
The Pirates will play 10 matches at Minges Coliseum this season while participating in non-conference tournaments at Bucknell, Campbell and Georgia State. ECU finished the 2015 campaign with a 12-19 record, including a 5-15 mark in American Athletic Conference play.
ECU returns three of its top four hitters from the 2015 season as well as four players who competed in at least 100 sets.
