PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The ECU cross country teams look to win the first league titles in program history Saturday, running in the 2017 American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships at Belmont Plateau Park in Philadelphia.

Streamed live on The American Digital Network, the action will begin at 10:00 a.m. ET/9:00 a.m. CT with the men's 8k race, followed by the women's 6k race at 10:50 a.m. ET/9:50 a.m. CT. The awards ceremony will start at the conclusion of both races, beginning at 11:40 a.m. ET/10:40 a.m. CT.

The men enter the meet ranked No. 14 in the Southeast Region by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches association. Last time out, ECU captured second place at its home meet the Pirate Invitational. Senior Bakri Abushouk claimed the individual title by running an 8K time of 24:00 while his brother Dean Abushouk took third place with a personal-best time of 24:34.

On the women's side, the Pirates own some momentum after a second-place result at the Pirate Invitational. Junior Grace Sullivan was the individual champion, matching her personal-best 6K time of 20:37 – the second fastest in program history. She is the reigning AAC Female Athlete of the Week. Sophomore Mikayla Stoudt captured eighth place with a time of 22:13 with sophomore Nuria Tillo-Prats close behind in 11th place (22:25).

At last season's AAC Championships, the men earned a seventh-place finish while the women ended up in 11th place.
