GREENVILLE, N.C. - ECU Athletics is proud to partner with Harris Teeter to provide a Thanksgiving meal to deserving families this holiday season.Â
Harris Teeter will donate 10 Thanksgiving meals to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina for every touchdown scored by the Pirates during their home game against Cincinnati on November 18.Â
"We are very pleased to partner with IMG, ECU Athletics and the Food Bank to provide a Thanksgiving meal to families throughout the area who might not otherwise be able to enjoy one," Danna Robinson, communication manager for Harris Teeter, said. "We'll be pulling for the Pirate offense to have a big game Saturday."
Meals will be donated to the Food Bank the week of Thanksgiving, and each will contain enough food to feed a family of four. These meals will help complete the holiday for families who may otherwise go without a traditional Thanksgiving fare.
Harris Teeter, a proud sponsor of ECU Athletics, is headquartered in Matthews, N.C. and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR). The regional grocery chain employs approximately 28,000 associates and operates stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, Delaware, Florida and the District of Columbia.
"We are very honored to partner with Harris Teeter in this effort," ECU Director of Athletics Jeff Compher said. "Helping families with a meal during the holidays is a great way to serve our community."
