GREENVILLE, N.C. - Former East Carolina linebacker Dayon Pratt has formally signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Houston Texans according to a release by the National Football League organization.

Pratt ranked fourth on the team with 61 tackles (34 solo), but led the Pirates in TFLs (7.5), sacks (2.5) and forced fumbles (three) to earn program defensive MVP honors in 2016. He started all 10 games appeared in as a senior and tallied five or more stops on seven occasions, which included a pair of career-best 12-tackle outings at USF and Tulsa.

The Washington, D.C. native booked 110 career tackles (62 solo) with 9.5 TFLs, which generated a combined total of 31 lost yards. Pratt, who started 11 games in four years, recorded at least one stop in 28 of 37 contests and registered multiple tackles 24 times. He led the special teams unit with 18 hits during his sophomore campaign before injuries limited action to only six outings in 2015.

Pratt recently participated in the Texans' rookie camp at the Houston Methodist Training Center over the weekend.
