GREENVILLE, N.C. -East Carolina University men's golf program was named one of the 2017 Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Academic Teams, the organization announced Wednesday. This is the sixth consecutive year the program has earned the prestigious distinction and the eighth for the team since the list began in 2009.

This is the sixth consecutive year the program has earned the prestigious distinction and the eighth for the team since the list began in 2009.
To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year and have a 3.0 or better team GPA. There were 187 teams across all NCAA divisions selected for the honor this year, including four from the American Athletic Conference (Cincinnati, UConn, ECU and UCF).
ECU placed eight of its nine men's golf team members on The American All-Academic Team this season as those individuals attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
