Jack Sides Named All-America Scholar

2016-17 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars
GREENVILLE, N.C. --- Senior Jack Sides capped his ECU golf career by being named an Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar on Wednesday. He is the 17th Pirate to be named to the list since 2008.
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced a record number of student-athletes earned this prestigious honor including 260 in Division I, 108 in Division II and 20 in NAIA. Additionally 46 honorees were added to the previously released Division III list.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Sides competed in nine events this past season, compiling a 75.96 strokes per round average, while majoring in public health studies. He was recently named to The American All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year.
