GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina head women's basketball coach Heather Macy announced Friday that Christina "Jazz" Weaver and Hayley Hollis have joined the program as director of basketball operations and video coordinator, respectively.
"We would like to welcome Jazz and Hayley," Macy said. "I believe that both possess a strong work ethic and have the ability to elevate our program.
Weaver joins the Pirate staff after spending the 2016-17 season as the director of basketball operations at Northern Illinois. While with the Huskies, she managed all aspects of team travel, budget, practice players and facilities scheduling while working as the team's liaison with marketing and communications. She oversaw team academics, assisted with recruiting visits and managed the NIU women's basketball alumni event which saw its biggest crowd in program history.
During her year in DeKalb, the Huskies posted their first 20-win season in over a decade and reached the postseason for the first time in over 20 years with a WNIT bid.
Prior to NIU, Weaver worked at her alma mater UNC Greensboro from 2014-2016 as director of basketball operations before being elevated to assistant coach during the 2015-16 season. In addition to her operations duties, Weaver worked with First Team All-Southern Conference selection Lucy Mason who became the program's all-time leading scorer.
Weaver earned a Bachelor of Science in sociology criminology with a minor in African American studies from UNCG in 2012.
Hollis comes to ECU after spending the 2016-17 season as the varsity girls basketball coach at Blair High School in Silver Spring, Md. She was named the 4A/3A East Division Coach of the Year after guiding the team to a 15-8 record, a five-game improvement from the previous year.
Prior to BHS, Hollis coached at The Bullis School in Potomac, Md., where she led the Bulldogs girls varsity team for two seasons. She also made stops at Sherwood High School and the Academy of the Holy Cross as an associate head coach.
Off the court, Hollis was responsible for managing team budgets, organizing practices and preparing scouting reports based on live reports and film break downs.
Hollis began her career in basketball as a national talent evaluator for Tri State Report in 2013. She was also a health and physical education teacher at the Bullis School from 2014-16.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education with a minor in exercise science from Salisbury in 2009.
