
ECU Named CSCAA Scholar All-American Team

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The ECU men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been named College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams for the Fall 2017 semester.

The women's team compiled a 3.50 cumulative GPA for the Fall 2017 semester under first-year head coach Matthew Jabs, tying SMU for the highest mark among all American Athletic Conference teams. Nineteen members of the team compiled a GPA of 3.0 or better, including eight with a perfect 4.0.

The ECU women's squad has been named a Scholar All-America team for 17 consecutive semesters.

The men's team compiled a 3.13 GPA in the fall of 2017 with 17 student-athletes boasting a GPA of 3.0 or better, including nine with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The Team Scholar All American Award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and again in the spring to recognize teams achieving a 3.0 in the semester coinciding with all intercollegiate swimming and diving championships.

Nearly 700 men's and women's swimming and diving teams representing 430 institutions from across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA Divisions were named CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams. For a complete list of Scholar All-America teams click here.

The Pirates will return to action at the American Athletic Conference Championships beginning Feb. 14 in Dallas.
