RESULT
With the game tied at 2-2 with 15:49 left in the first half, Winthrop scored five straight goals en route to a 17-9 win over ECU Friday. The Eagles led by six goals at halftime and built a 10-goal advantage with less than 21 minutes to play.

QUICK NOTES

Megan Pallozzi and Ally Stanton scored two goals each. It was the second straight multi-goal game for Stanton.
Nicole LeGar, Mackell Schultes, Casey Sullivan and Emma Bowman scored one goal each.
Sullivan post team highs in ground balls (3) and caused turnovers (3).
Pallozzi won a team-best five draw controls.
The Pirates scored on 6-of-9 free possession shots and converted 11-of-13 clear attempts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

ECU and Winthrop traded goals in the first 14:11 with Winthrop scoring first followed by ECU's first goal courtesy of Sullivan. The Eagles scored again and then Emma Bowman tied the game at two.
Winthrop scored five straight goals to take a 7-2 lead with 7:11 to play and led 9-3 at halftime.
The Eagles scored five straight goals to start the second half and led 14-3 with 19:25 to play.
ECU then scored four of the next five goals over a 10-minutes stretch to make it 15-7 with 7:23 remaining.
Judge then scored two straight goals to put the Eagles up 17-7 with less than five minutes to play.
Pallozzi and Trinity Mapp scored the Pirates' final two goals to set the final score.
