
Holba And Sullivan Named March Student-Athletes Of The Month

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Junior RHP Chris Holba of the baseball team and junior distance runner Grace Sullivan of the track and field program have been selected the male and female Student-Athletes of the Month following an outstanding March athletically.

Holba posted a 4-0 record and compiled a 1.91 earned run average with 26 strikeouts in 28.1 innings pitched during March. He recorded wins over Saint Joseph's, Charlotte, Maryland and Wichita State, tossing seven innings and posting eight strikeouts in the victory over the Hawks at the Keith LeClair Classic. Holba leads the American Athletic Conference and is tied for first nationally in wins (seven). He is also third in the league and 20th in the country with a 1.33 ERA.

Sullivan excelled during the Raleigh Relays at NC State, capturing the event title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in school-record fashion. She crossed the finish line in 10:26.02 – the top time in the AAC this season as well as 21st in the NCAA East Region and 34th nationally. Sullivan also turned in a top-three finish in the 1,500-meter run at the Weems Baskin Invitational on the campus of the University of South Carolina.

Combined, Holba and Sullivan have completed 111 hours of community service during the 2017-18 academic year.
