Dunsmore and Russell wrap up careers at regionals
Ryan Hunt is entering his fourth season as East Carolina's men's and women's diving coach. He was named to the position in of March of 2012 following a two-year stint as a volunteer assistant coach for the Pirates from 2008-10.
A four-year letterman for the Pirates, Hunt earned a bachelor's and master's degree from East Carolina University. He received his bachelor's degree in 2008 and his master's degree in 2010, obtaining both degrees from the University's Department of Health and Human Performance. He was named the department's 2008 Most Outstanding Graduate.
A native of East Hampton, N.J., Hunt was a two-time All-Conference USA performer and four-time NCAA Zone B Regional Championship participant. He was the recipient of the team's Most Outstanding Diver Award in 2005, '06 and `07. A former team captain, Hunt currently holds the school record on the three-meter springboard and ranks among the top-10 in two other events.
Hunt began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach with the Pirates upon graduation in 2008. As a coach he has worked with several NCAA Zone Championship qualifiers. He has coached multiple NCAA Zone qualifiers, including four during the 2014-15 campaign, and all-conference performers. He helped coach the women's team to a perfect 11-0 dual meet record during the 2013-14 season and the men's team to its first American Athletic Conference title in 2015.
He worked as an admissions counselor at ECU after receiving his master's degree until he accepted the diving coach position.
