Francis Named To The C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - East Carolina senior Kylie Francis was one of eight student-athletes named to the 2011-12 Conference USA Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team announced by the league office Wednesday.

The all-academic team consists of student-athletes that have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and have competed in 75 percent of their team's scheduled meets. Francis was one of two repeat selections on the team along with Shelly Bottoms of Rice.

Francis earned her second All-Academic recognition as she holds a 3.83 GPA as a fashion merchandise major. A two-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and was the recipient of the 2011 C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal, Francis holds the school record in the 200-backstroke.

Rice senior Alexandra O'Brien and junior Danielle Spencejoined their teammate onthe All-Academic team. SMU seniors Genny Konicke and Emily Vavourakis hold two spots on the All-Academic team. Sarah Kay of Marshall and Houston's Reka Kovacs round out the academic unit.
