GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina senior Colleen Jones along with freshmen Alicia Roueche and Ashley Sams will return to the Greensboro Aquatic Center, site of the N.C. Collegiate Kick-off, to compete in the NCAA Zone B Diving Regionals this week. The three-day event will take place from Monday, March 10 through Wednesday, March 12.
Prelims for the women's 1-meter are scheduled for Monday at 11 a.m., with the final 18 divers advancing to the finals. The 3-meter competition will take place the following day with divers also competing for one of 18 spots in Tuesday morning's preliminaries, also starting at 11 a.m. All three ECU divers will compete in Monday's 1-meter event and Tuesday's high-board action.
If successful, the trio will punch their ticket to Minneapolis alongside teammate Megan Sellers who will compete in the 100-yard breaststroke at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Jones claimed a bronze medal on the 3-meter springboard at the 2014 Conference USA Championships with a season-best score of 297.83, while Roeuche and Sams were finalists on both boards. Sams qualified for the regional in the season-opening meet in Greensboro with a score of 263.45 on the 1-meter boards. This will be the first regional appearance for all three divers.
