Pirates Sweep Weekly Swimming And Diving Awards

IRVING, Texas - East Carolina's Natalia Favoreto and Meghan Coyne have been named Conference USA Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively. Favoreto claimed three first-place finishes and recorded some of the league's top times during the Pirates' dual meet against Catawba while Coyne swept the diving events with the second-best C-USA scores of the season in each event.

Favoreto recorded a trio of individual first-place finishes in a dual meet against Catawba, winning the 200 freestyle (1:53.32), 50 breaststroke (29.48) and 100 butterfly (56.58). She won the 100 butterfly by nearly four seconds (56.58-1:00.23), the 200 freestyle by almost three seconds (1:53.32-1:56.10) and the 50 breaststroke by more than two seconds (29.48-31.63). This is Favoreto's second C-USA Swimmer of the Week award.

C-USA Diver of the Week
Meghan Coyne, East Carolina, Sr., Newburgh, N.Y.
Coyne swept the diving events in a dual meet against Catawba. She scored a 308.55 on the 1-meter board and a 314.77 on the 3-meter board. No other competitor scored more than 300 in either event. The award is the eighth in Coyne's career and first this season.
