Track And Field Opens Outdoor Campaign At Wake Forest

Freshman Kayla Padgett wins first career outdoor event title

2010-11: Competed in the javelin during the outdoor season ... Took sixth place at the C-USA Outdoor Championships with a season-best mark of 59.45 meters ... Produced a trio of top-five finishes in six appearances.

2009-10: Turned in four showings in the javelin throw during the season, taking seventh-place at the C-USA Outdoor Championships with a mark of 53.29 meters ... Finished third at UNC Wilmington (53.73 meters) ... Produced his career high at the Shamrock Invitational in Conway, S.C. and captured 10th-place with a mark of 57.05 meters.

2008-09: Placed second at North Carolina (4/11) in the javelin with a career-best mark of 53.34 meters ... Took 11th at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, throwing a 48.87 ... Also threw the discus at the league meet, recording a 38.49 which was good for 15th-place.

High School: Earned three conference championships, two county titles and one regional championship in the discus ... Turned in a seventh-place finish in the North Carolina 2A state meet his senior season ... Also lettered in football and swimming.
