Chris Courson is in his third season working with the East Carolina track and field program. He works directly with the sprints, hurdles and relay teams.
During his time in Greenville, Courson has helped coach five Conference USA individual champions and multiple all-conference performers as well as multiple NCAA East Region qualifiers and a Penn Relays champion 4x100m relay squad.
A 2008 graduate of UNC Wilmington, Courson was a three-time CAA team champion, four-time conference champion in the 4x400 relay, a four-time NCAA regional qualifier in the 4x400, a three-time IC4A All-East honoree in the 400-meter dash and 4x400, and holds four Seahawk school records.
Courson has earned coaching certification from the USTCA and a level one coaching certificate.
In 2010, Courson completed all requirements for a master's degree in exercise physiology and currently works as a teaching instructor in the exercise and sport science department at East Carolina.
