Tynita Butts earns NCAA qualifying mark in high jump

2012-13 Track & Field: Competed in four 20-pound weight throw events during the indoor season...Recorded her career-best mark of 15.13m (49-07.75) at the SPIRE Invitational...Earned her highest finish, seventh, of the season at the Christopher Newport Invitational with a mark of 12.58m (41-03.25).

High School: Three-sport athlete at Hickory High School in track & field, volleyball and softball...Named to the All-State team in the discus and javelin her senior year...Named Region MVP and District MVP...Garnered All-District First Team honors on two occasions...Helped the Hornets to the State Championships in 2012...Discus PIAA Champion as a senior...Helped the Hornets win the 2012 PIAA Team Championship for women's track...Team captain.
