EUGENE, Ore. -On the first day of action at the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the East Carolina track and field 4x100-meter relay teams were unable to advance to the finals.

The men's 4x100-meter relay squad, which was comprised of Cameron Hudson, Michael Neal, Hunter Furr and Austin Lewis, finished 18th in the semifinals with a time of 39.92. Their time was 0.3 seconds shy of the ECU school record that the quartet set earlier this season.

Tania Minkins, Tyshonda Hawkins, Erin Tucker and Jasmine Dawsoncompeted in the women's 4x100-meter relay semifinals. The team finished 21st after posting a time of 47.01.

East Carolina will send three Pirates into competition on the second day of Nationals. Minkins and Hawkins will race in the women's 200-meter dash semifinal at 4:15 p.m., and Hudson will participate in the men's long jump trials/finals at 4:30 p.m.

Day two will be streamed on ESPN3 beginning at 6:55 p.m. ET.
