EUGENE, Ore. - Seniors Tania Minkins and Tyshonda Hawkins, along with sophomore Cameron Hudson represented East Carolina on the second day of action at the 2014 Division I NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Minkins and Hawkins both competed in the women's 200-meter dash semifinals. Minkins placed 13th in the event with a time of 23.61, while Hawkins came in 18th after finishing in 23.70. Despite their solid performances, neither were able to advance to the finals.
In the field, Hudson represented the Pirates in the men's long jump. He finished 16th after recording a distance of 7.26-meters (23' 10").
East Carolina will send sophomore jumper Avion Jones to action Friday, June 13, in the men's high jump finals at 3:20 p.m. PT. Jones is the school record holder in the event with a clearance of 2.21-meters (7' 3").
Day three of the NCAA Championships will be televised on ESPNU at 7:30 p.m. ET.
