RALEIGH, N.C. - For the second time this season, the East Carolina men's and women's cross country teams ran at the WakeMed Soccer Park and turned in impressive performances. On Saturday, Nov. 8, both squads ran in the Pack Invitational, hosted by North Carolina State. The men's team came in fourth out of five squads in the 5K while the women placed third out of five, also in a 5K.

The men's team was paced by freshman Alexandre Prevost, who finished 20th with a time of 16:33. This is a 56 second improvement over his performance at WakeMed from the Wolfpack Invitational on Sept. 12. Junior Michael Scott checked in second on the team and 28th overall with a time of 17:00. Just one place behind Scott was Shaffey Singh (29th/17:05). Scott's time was 15 seconds better than his Wolfpack Invitational time and Singh's was a 16 second improvement. Rounding out the Pirate runners was junior Nick Boerio (35th/17:35) and freshman Edrian Murray (39th/17:55).

On the women's side, freshman Andrea Barletta led the way, finishing 26th overall with a time of 20:24, 34 seconds better than her Wolfpack Invitational time. Classmate Sarah Hennis timed out at 20:35, good for a 33rd-place finish and a 32 second improvement over this season's earlier performance. Sophomore Ericka Charles came in 36th with a 20:51 time, which was 52 seconds better than her Wolfpack Invitational time. Melissa Delhagen (39th/21:41), Erin Manion (40th/21:45) and Kelly Burt (46th/22:11) completed the women's squad on the day.
