GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina women’s cross country team will make the short trip north to Charlottesville, Va., for the 2013 NCAA Southeast Regional this Friday, Nov. 15, at the University of Virginia.

Just two weeks ago, at the Conference USA Championships in Denton, Texas, the Pirates finished in fourth place, while redshirt senior Brooke Kott earned first team all-conference recognition for her seventh-place finish in the 5K race with a time of 17:37.67. The time was also tied for the 10th-fastest in program history. Kott passed as many as 10 runners in the final half-mile of the race to polish off her top-10 performance.

Redshirt junior Stefanie Fresenius also turned in a quality performance, finishing one spot shy of all-conference honors with a 22nd-place showing in a time of 18:02.65, as Shewit Weldense (18:31.23) and Chelsea Hollingsworth (18:34.72) placed 36th and 37th, respectively, to round out the squad’s top-50 finishers.
