Reynolds Names Louisville Slugger Preseason All-American

GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina junior Drew Reynolds was named CollegeBaseballInsider.com Louisville Slugger Second-Team Preseason All-American the publication announced last weekend.
Reynolds, a preseason First-Team All-Conference USA selection by the league coaches, was a finalist for the John Olerud Two-Way Player-of-the-Year Award a year ago. The Cherryville, N.C. native led the team with 10 saves posting a 3-0 record in 21 appearances and sporting a 3.00 ERA.
At the plate, he ranked second on the team with a .330 batting average in 54 games. Reynolds started 48 games as the Pirates designated hitter, where he belted three home runs, drove in 24 and scored 31 runs. The junior utility man earned Second-Team All C-USA honors and closed out the season ranking among the league leaders in saves (fourth) and batting average (10th).
Through three games this season, Reynolds ranks second on the team with a .417 (5-for-12) average with a pair of runs scored. In his lone outing out of the bullpen, he allowed five runs (one earned) on five hits with two walks against No. 25 Virginia.
