Even though the season is still quite young, the Pirates have an RPI of 73 (BoydsWorld) and 117 (WarrenNolan) after 11 games, which ranks fourth out of C-USA's nine teams.
Junior Drew Reynolds ranked among the national leaders in saves (20th) with three saves heading into this weeks action ... Reynolds notched his fourth save against UNCG, which was also the 14th of his career ranking fifth on the school's all-time list.
Senior Philip Clark is a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts this season and has pushed his career total to 30 ... On the season, ECU has swiped 9 of 11 bags with Bass (3-for-3), Dylan Brown (2-for-2) and Reynolds (1-for-1) all remaining perfect on the base paths.
Nine first year players have seen action on the diamond this season through 11 games ... If you include players that redshirted during their first year in the Pirate program (2012 season), then 12 newcomers have stepped on the field during the regular season.
After an 0-3 start, the Pirates have moved up the C-USA leader board and are currently tied for second in the standings with a .636 winning percentage ... ECU was picked third in the 2013 Conference USA preseason poll (by league coaches) after going 13-10-1 in league play a season ago, finishing in sixth.

Williams Notes Recorded second-straight win on the mound against St. John's (Mar. 2) allowing one run (earned) on seven hits with one strikeout in eight innings of work ... Notched first win of ECU career against Boston College (Feb. 23) allowing one run (unearned) on six hits with five strikeouts ... Made ECU debut on Feb. 16 against No. 25 Virginia working six innings, where he allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits with three walks and two strikeouts ... Tied for 5th in C-USA in innings pitched (21.0).
Lucroy Notes Picked up first collegiate win against St. John's (Mar. 3) fanning a season-high nine batters in 6.1 innings ... Allowed two runs (both earned) on two hits with three walks ... Tossed five scoreless innings in his first collegiate start agaisnt NMSU (Feb. 25) ... Allowed three hits with three walks, while fanning three ... Made collegiate debut against No. 25 Virginia coming out of the bullpen to face one batter ... Redshirted during initial year of the program ... Ranks 19th nationally in hits per 9 inn (3.97) ... Selected in the 29th round (pick 881) of the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Amateur Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers ... Brother Jonathan is the starting catcher for the Milwaukee Brewers and was named to the 2013 USA World Baseball Classic Roster.
Reinheimer currently leads the club (among regular starters) in average (.410), total bases (20), slugging percentage (.513) and is tied for first with five multi-hit games ... Against UNCG, where he was 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and two runs scored, Reinheimer extended his current hitting streak to six games.
Bass continues to play at a high level for the Pirates ranking second on the team and in C-USA in average (.409) ... Leads the squad (among regular starters) in hits (18), runs (nine), walks (six) and on-base percentage (.490), while sharing the team lead in stolen bases (three) and multi-hit games (five) ... He has started all 11 games at second base boasting a 1.000 fielding percentage in 64 chances (32 assists, 32 putouts) and has turned nine double plays ... Bass extended his current hitting streak to 12 games dating back to the Chapel Hill Regional with his 2-for-5 performance against UNCG.
Freshman catcher Luke Lowery, who has started two of the last three games behind the plate, is batting an impressive .600 (6-for-10) with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored ... Currently he owns a three-game hitting streak and with his 2-for-3 outing against UNCG, he now has two multi-hit games on the season.
Senior reliever Jake Harris has appeared in a team-best seven games sporting a 1.46 ERA ... He picked up his first win of the season, third career, against UNCG working two full innings allowing one run (earned) on three hits ... Last week he had scoreless outings against Liberty (2.0 IP, 2 H, BB, K) and St. John's (1.0 IP, BB) in game one of the series ... On Sunday he allowed his first run of the year after entering the game in the seventh inning with runners on first and second and no outs ... He finished the contest giving up two hits that resulted in one earned run and struck out two in 2.2 frames.
Reynolds notched his team-leading fourth save against the Spartans earlier this week allowing a pair of hits and striking out the side in one inning of relief ... He lowered his ERA to a team-best 1.35 and has surrendered one run in 6.2 innings with nine punch outs.
After starting the season 0-3, the Pirates have won seven of its last eight games, which include three wins in the 10th Annual Keith LeClair Classic, a series sweep of St. John's and a midweek victory over UNCG ... ECU Head Coach Billy Godwin improved his career coaching record to 522-251-1 and his Pirate record to 260-166-1 ... His 260 wins trails only ECU Hall of Famer Dr. Gary Overton, who amassed 427 wins in 13 years (1985-1997) as the Pirates' skipper.
