The Pirates will look to snap a five game loosing streak when they play host to William & Mary tonight at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium ... ECU dropped a three-game C-USA series at No. 28 Houston last weekend loosing 7-2, 4-3 and 5-4 (10 inn.) ... The Tribe enters today's contest riding a six-game winning streak that started on Mar. 16 ... During their run they have picked up wins against Delaware (twice), Longwood and Northeastern (three times).
ODDS AND ENDS
Senior Jay Cannon enters the contest riding a 13-game hitting streak, which started on Mar. 5 ... During the streak he is batting .321 (17-for-53) with two home runs, six RBI, nine runs and two doubles ... Junior Jack Reinheimer leads the team and ranks eighth in the league with a .333 average ... He is also the team leaders in hits (31), which also ranks eighth in the league ... Junior Drew Reynolds ranks 20th nationally in saves, while leading the club and C-USA with six saves (6-for-7 in save opportunities) ... His 16 career saves moves him into a tie for third place on the school's all-time list with former All-American Greg Bunn (2002-04).
ECU enters this week ranked second in C-USA with a .279 batting average, while the team's ERA of 5.12 ranks dead last.
Through 24 games this season, the Pirates have allowed 149 free bases to opponents (111 walks, 38 hit batters), which leads Conference USA ... ECU has been outscored 136 to 129 by its opponents.
Redshirt freshman David Lucroy earned his first Conference USA Pitcher-of-the-Week honors after tossing a two-hit complete game shutout against Monmouth (Mar. 10) in the series clinching win ... The right-hander struck out a career-high 12 batters with nine going down swinging ... It was the first complete game shutout since Seth Maness' 4-0 win over Southern Miss in the 2011 Conference USA Championships.
Nine first year players have seen action on the diamond this season through 21 games ... If you include players that redshirted during their first year in the Pirate program (2012 season), then 12 newcomers have stepped on the field during the regular season.
ECU holds a commanding 75-18 all-time lead in the series between the two former Colonial Athletic Association foes ... The Pirates cruised to a 13-4 win a year ago in Greenville.

Bolton Notes: Scheduled to make second career start ... First collegiate start came at UNC Wilmington (Mar. 19) where he worked four innings allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks in a loss ... Appeared in eight total games ... As a reliever allowed seven runs (all earned) on nine hits with six strikeouts and four walks in eight innings ... Has not surrendered a run in his last three outings in relief (2.2 IP) recording one strikeout ... 2012: Made three relief appearances surrendering three runs (two earned) on three hits with a pair of walks in 1.0 inning.
Hoffman Notes: Suffered second-straight loss (third overall) at No. 28 Houston (Mar. 22) surrendering a season-high seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits with a strikeout and two walks ... Second loss of the year came at Jacksonville (Mar. 15) after going head-to-head with Chris Anderson ... Allowed three runs (all earned) on seven hits with five walks and five strikeouts ... Recorded a no-decision against Monmouth (Mar. 8) after working eight full innings where he allowed three runs (all earned) on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts ... Posted second win of the season against St. John's (Mar.1) going seven full frames allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits with two strikeouts ... Dylan Brown batted a team-best .500 over the weekend at No. 28 Houston, which included a pair of home runs - his first with ECU ... Currently he is batting .275 (22-for-80) with a team-best nine extra base hits (5 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs) ... He also leads the team with 15 runs scores, while ranking third with 11 RBI.
Freshman Travis Watkins has started 17 of 20 games behind the plate this season and is batting .302 (16-for-53) ... He is tied for third on the club with 11 RBI and has produced four multi-hit games.
ECU Head Coach Billy Godwin owns a career record of 526-260-1 in 14 season as a skipper ... At ECU he is 264-175-1 ... His 264 wins trails only ECU Hall of Famer Dr. Gary Overton, who amassed 427 wins in 13 years (1985-1997) as the Pirates' skipper.
