THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE GAME
• The Pirates snapped their six-game losing streak at Elon (11-4) Wednesday night and will look to pick up its second-straight victory when they host N.C. Central Friday (Mar. 29) ... ECU has posted a 3-7 record in its last 10 contests picking up wins at Jacksonville (two) and at Elon ... They dropped midweek matchups against UNC Wilmington, High Point and William & Mary, while also starting the C-USA season being swept at Houston ... NCCU enters the contest on a nine-game winning streak and owns an 18-9 overall record ... During their run, the Eagles have picked up wins over Savannah State (two), Coppin State (two), Florida A&M (three) and Longwood (two).

• ECU belted a season-high four home runs in its 11-4 win at Elon ... Junior Chase McDonald smacked a pair of homers (both solo), while Bryan Bass hit his first career round tripper and Jay Cannon smoked his third of the season ... Bass reached base five times against the Phoenix (HR, 3 BBs, and 2 errors) ... Junior Jack Reinheimer drew three walks and recorded a hit in the leadoff spot for the Pirates ... • Redshirt freshman David Lucroy earned his first Conference USA Pitcher-of-the-Week honors after tossing a two-hit complete game shutout against Monmouth (Mar. 10) in the series clinching win ... The right-hander struck out a career-high 12 batters with nine going down swinging ... It was the first complete game shutout since Seth Maness' 4-0 win over Southern Miss in the 2011 Conference USA Championships.
