GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina senior Ryan Williams was selected in the 10th round by the Chicago Cubs Friday afternoon during the second day of the 2014 Major League Baseball First-Year Amateur Player Draft.
Williams, who earned Third-Team Louisville Slugger All-America honors this season, was taken with the 289th overall pick and is the second Pirate selected in this year's draft behind Jeff Hoffman (No. 9 overall selection by Toronto Blue Jays).
