GREENVILLE, N.C. - Former East Carolina standout Jack Reinheimer has been selected to participate in the 50th Midwest League All-Star Classic the league announced earlier this week. The Mid-Summer Classic will be played on June 17 a West Michigan's Fifth Third Ballpark.

Reinheimer, a three-year starter at shortstop for the Pirates, has appeared in 55 games for the Clinton Lumberjacks - Class A affiliate for the Seattle Mariners - where he leads the team in hits (59), runs (40), stolen bases (21), triples (4) and total bases (72). On the season he is batting .281 (59-for-210) with a .343 slugging percentage.

The Charlotte, N.C. native ranks among the Midwest League leaders (top-20) in runs (t4th), stolen bases (t5th), triples (t8th) and hits (t18th). Reinheimer, who was taken in the fifth round (pick 147) of the 2013 MLB Draft, batted .269 with two home runs, six doubles, 30 RBI and 39 runs scored a year ago with the Everett Aquasox of the Northwest League.
