GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina's 2013 baseball recruiting class has garnered a pair of Top-40 national rankings for the third-straight year. Perfect Game tabbed this year's class at No. 26, while Collegiate Baseball gave them a No. 38 ranking.
The 2013 class is made up of six pitchers (Luke Bolka, James Gray, Evan Kruczynski, Phillip Perry, Brandon Saunders and Jacob Wolfe), four infielders (Hunter Allen, Kirk Morgan, Cameron Snow and Charlie Yorgen), one outfielder (Ian Townsend), one catcher (Eric Tyler) and four two-way players (Bryce Harman, Davis Kirkpatrick, Reid Love and TJ McDonald).
Among Conference USA programs, ECU is ranked second by Collegiate Baseball behind Rice (No. 21), and third by Perfect Game following Florida International (No. 8) and Tulane (No. 23). Both publications have tabbed Florida with the nation's top recruiting class.
In addition to the 16 newcomers, ECU welcomes back 19 returnees (18 letterwinners) including six positional players that made 20 or more starts a year ago and 10 pitchers from a squad that finished third in C-USA and won its last six league series.
