"It's nice to wrap up the non-conference part of the schedule with a win. I didn't particularly like the first half, especially defensively against a pretty good player. [Brandon] Givens is averaging 28 points per game, and has gotten to the [foul] line 150 times in 11 games, and those numbers are insane. I've never seen that before. I don't care what level you are, if you score that amount of points you're a pretty good player. He's obviously a guy who could play at this level. The second half we did a much better job on him. Our zone in the second half slowed them down a little bit and we did a much better job holding them to 20 percent shooting in the second half."
On Ty Armstrong's performance...
"He scores the ball when he gets it in there, and he scores it consistently in practice when he plays there. He didn't foul in this game because he was able to stay on the court and get more comfortable. We'll rely on him in conference play to be able to get us a bucket in there."
On a shooting some many 3s...
"I don't care as long as their open. [Our percentage tonight] is average there. What happens is they give us those 3s. I think we've got pretty good shooters most nights, so we'll take those.
"Well we've got to be able to manufacture some points in some other ways than just grinding it out in half court situations. It's probably not the thing we do best. We don't have that type of player and we're not that type of team. We've got to manufacture some points in transition, which we did at times today."
On becoming more comfortable on the floor...
"Things are coming to me, I feel like I still have a long way to go especially with the level of competition we have coming up next, but I feel like I'm getting prepared for what we have coming up."
On how much more fun it is when he's more involved...
""It's fun regardless, I love my teammates, I love playing basketball, I love coming hard in practice every day. We've got walk-ons who don't get into the game as much, but they come to practice hard every day and have the same great spirit every single day. I want to have the same great spirit whether I'm playing, getting touches or not."
On Ty's development...
"It's not so much his game and getting confidence, it's more us getting him the ball when he's down low because he scores at such a high rate in practice every day. I know it's against us, but he can do it against other people. We have a 6-9 beast down there."
On scoring points off turnovers
"We've been working on a lot of different things, like picking up full court and giving more tempo because we're so fast, big and strong. We can run every at position and we're very fast as a team. He just wants us to keep the ball in front of us and get the deflections."
