ECU Head Coach Ricky Stokes
"Naturally, we are excited about the win and glad to be in the winning column. I don't know if we played extremely well at times, but give the team a lot of credit, it was enough to earn the win."

"Defensively, I think we were pretty good. We were hurt by poor rebounding in the first half as we allowed too many offensive rebounds. Give Chowan a lot of credit. They played hard and I thought their zone slowed us down a bit."

"We wanted to try to get the ball down inside and we did a better job of that in the second half. We definitely have some more things to work on, but was nice to see both freshman post players get a double-double. I was especially pleased with the efforts given by Darrell Jenkins and Cory Farmer."

"It was nice having John back in there for us. He can really patrol the lane, force mistakes and give us scoring inside. No question he was tired out there having been gone for two weeks, but we are glad to have him and he adds a lot to our team."

On Getting Back On The Court
The entire training and strength staff did a good job of conditioning me while I was out. I was riding a bike and that picked my cardio up so that when I came back I wouldn't be winded."

"It felt good to be back out there. I wish I had played the ACC schedule, but unfortunately I couldn't. If felt good playing with the team and having great team unity."

"Sometimes I had to catch my breath. Nothing can simulate the game speed. The coaches did a good job on bringing me out and giving me breaks.

"I try to have a good time every time I play. Coach had us really excited. We've been down since we have been loosing, but he pumped us up and I was having fun out there."

"It feels good but I'm glad that John [Fields] is back because he helped the team out a whole lot with his fast break scores, rebounds and blocked shots. It feels good to win again."

On Playing With A Fast Paced Tempo
"We love that style. Sometimes we have to pull it out and run our plays occasionally when it is a stronger opponent. That was a good team and they fought real hard."

On Coming Out Of the Losing Streak
"You learn a lot from losing. I don't like to learn too much but I learned a whole lot from this seven game losing streak."
