With the victory, East Carolina moved to 2-1 in Conference USA play. Its the first time the Pirates have had a winning C-USA ledger through three games.
East Carolina won its third straight Conference USA home game dating back to last season.
Maurice Kemp became the fifth ECU player to score 30 points in a Conference USA game (Darrell Jenkins 2, Sam Hinnant, Brock Young, Darrius Morrow). Three of the Pirates' six 30-point performances have been against Houston (Darrell Jenkins 31, 2007; Sam Hinnant 30, 2008; Maurice Kemp 30, 2013).
Kemp is the first player to score 30 points in a game since Darrius Morrow scored 33 at Marshall in 2011.
