Final Stats |
ECU Head Coach Ricky Stokes
"It was a difficult game and we have to give UCF a lot of credit because they have some really good players. We couldn't really get a handle on Anthony Williams in the first half, and then in the second we had a very difficult time with Justin Rose."
"I told the guys that I was very pleased, not with the outcome, but with the fact that we competed and had a chance in the second half to win this game."
On Justin Rose Of UCF
"He really hurt us on the offensive boards and we were not really able to keep him off the glass. He also drove it by us a few times and shot the three. We knew he was a very dangerous good player, and we have to do a better job [with players like Rose.]"
On The Support For The Team
"As I look around the league, we continue to have fans come out and support us even though we are struggling. To have the students and fans come out and cheer is always encouraging."
On Josh King's Performance
"With Japhet [McNeil] not playing tonight we were going to try different guys and it was good to see Josh get in and make some plays. [Josh] hasn't played much, but he definitely gave us a spark and shot the ball well, and I even thought that the shots he missed looked very good."
UCF Head Coach Kirk Speraw
"It was a hard fought basketball game. I thought our guys battled coming down the stretch and had a decent first half."
"Both teams struggled with shooting in the second half which has been a consistent thing for both of us."
"We had opportunities at the free throw line and made just enough free throws to keep East Carolina at bay a little bit."
"We are making progress and taking steps in the right direction."
ECU Sophomore Taylor Gagnon
"I think we are coming together pretty good. The coaches are really stressing sticking together."
"We are going through a tough time right now. We have some people that are banged up and we aren't playing the best ball we can."
Sophomore Josh King
"When the ball is not going in, it is hard to want to shoot it, but we just have to keep shooting."
