The Green Wave pushed its lead out to 16 points, 48-32, with 11:25 remaining.

Consecutive baskets from Jontae Sherrod and four free throws by Young and Chad Wynn cut the Pirates' deficit to eight, 48-40, in less than two minutes.

Tulane responded with a 12-4 run over the next four minutes to push its lead back to 16.

The Pirates got within nine on Young's third 3-pointer of the game with 53 seconds remaining and fell by that final margin.

Tulane shot 47.2 percent from the field (25-of-53) in the win compared to just a 37 percent mark (17-of-46) for the Pirates.
