East Carolina Coach Jeff Lebo
"I'm really proud of our group. That was a grinder game, that's just what it was. I'm proud of the way we responded. We made some plays, we stayed in the game, and overcame the loss of a player in Shamar Bowden. I thought we had some guys come off the bench and do some nice things for us. We had some key defensive stops coming down the stretch. We made it interesting by missing a lot of free throws and made it hard on ourselves."
On Darrius Morrow
"Morrow was terrific. The guys really understood that he was playing pretty well, got him the ball, and were patient in getting him the ball. They didn't double him tonight and I thought he had some big plays obviously through the game. I'm really proud. Our kids just really wanted to win this one for Darrius, we all did. Senior night is a special night and you always want to walk off the floor a winner and you always want to walk off the floor that last game a winner and our kids really wanted to win this one for him."
Marshall Coach Tom Herrion
"It was an exciting game for the fans that were here and watching on TV, so give East Carolina credit. I'm really dissapointed with us. Twenty turnovers out of no where and we are the third best team in the conference in taking care of the ball. We puked it up 20 times today. We contributed mightily to the loss. Give East Carolina credit, but we contributed mightily to this loss tonight. Morrow had a big night but a disappointing night for us."
"We shot over 50 percent from the field in regulation and we got the shots we wanted, but I mean they trapped a little bit more off the ball screen with Pitts a little more and tried to get it out of his hands because he has hurt them in the past. I thought we played weak with the ball. We didn't play some contact at all and obviously 20 turnovers on the road leads anybody to bad things."
Senior Darrius Morrow
On Senior Night
"I wish I could share this with Austin (Steed) because he never really had a senior night. So that would have been real special sharing it together. It was a good win. Our team kept fighting and came out on top. I started the game off nervous; the whole atmosphere just shocked me. I feel really loved here at East Carolina and I never had that feeling anywhere so it was overwhelming, but as the game progressed I just got into a zone. My teammates did an excellent job playing defense.
"I had it all day in my head about not playing in Minges ever again. I'm going to miss this place., I love the fans chanting my name and my Twitter name. That's just love right there. I was thinking all day how I would react to the ceremony and the game. The love from East Carolina and the fans I'll miss the most."
Junior Miguel Paul
On the overtime period
"I was just trying to manage the game, they were completely taking me off our ball screens with hard hits. Darrius told me to keep making the right reads and there was going to be a chance for a big play. I knocked down those two free throws, which turned out to be a big play looking at the final score."
