Senior Corey Rouse

  • Set new career-highs for points (35), rebounds (17), field goals made (14), field goals attempted (18), free throws made (7) and free throws attempted (12).
  • Recorded his 12th career double-double and the fifth time in the last seven games.
  • Became the first ECU player to score 30 points in a game since Garrett Blackwelder dropped 30 on George Mason on January 17, 2000.
  • His 35 points were the most points scored by an ECU player since Steve Richardson poured in 36 on Navy in 1990.

    Junior Japhet McNeil

  • Tied his career-high for assists set against Houston last season by dishing out 10 tonight, including eight in the second half.
  • Moved into sixth place on the school's career assists list by handing out his 229 career helpers.
  • His three steals brought his career total to 98, leaving him just two shy of becoming the fifth player in ECU history with 100 steals.

    Sophomore Jonathan Hart

  • Scored a career-high 10 points besting his previous high of six set last season against Pepperdine and Old Dominion.
  • Didn't miss a foul shot in the game for the fourth time in his career, going a perfect 4-for-4.

    Freshman Sam Hinnant

  • Became the 17th freshman in school history to start his first game.
  • His 19 points were the most by an ECU player in his career debut since Jonathan Moore scored 23 to open the 2001-02 against Rutgers.
  • His 38 minutes played were the most by an ECU freshman since Gabe Mikulas played 38 minutes in a double overtime loss to Birmingham Southern in 2001.

    Miscellaneous

  • Senior Mike Castro and sophomore Tom Hammonds didn't start after missing practice Thursday due to injury.
  • ECU's 86 points was its most against a Division I opponent since scoring 90 in overtime against Charlotte on February 7, 2004.
  • It was the most points by a Pirate team in a regulation game since putting up 87 points against Radford on Dec. 30, 2003.
  • Its 27 free throws made were the most by a team since draining 32 foul shots at Memphis during the 2003-04 season.
  • Shot 79.4 percent from the foul line after accumulating a team average of 63.1 percent a year ago.
  • ECU extended its home court winning streak against in-state non-conference opponents to 12 games.
  • The Pirates won their season opener for a sixth consecutive season and its home opener for a fourth straight year.
