TEAM

  • East Carolina improved to 6-0 when scoring 80 or more points under coach Mack McCarthy.
  • The Pirates snapped a four-game overtime losing streak dating back to the 2005-06 season.
  • It was the third straight overtime game against VCU. East Carolina is 2-1 in those games.
  • East Carolina topped the 90-point plateau for the second time this season, marking the first time that has happened since scoring 90-plus in three games during the 2003-04 season.
  • Had five players score double figures for the first time this season.
  • East Carolina trailed at halftime for the first time this season, 33-37.
  • The starting lineup of Jamar Abrams, Sam Hinnant, James Legan, Chad Wynn and Brock Young took the floor for a fifth consecutive game.

  • Scored double figures in a career-best fifth consecutive game. Fourteen of his 18 points came after halftime

    Senior James Legan

  • Scored 20-plus points for the third time the past four games.
  • Distributed a career-high four assists, besting his previous career-high of three against Clemson last season (Dec. 5, 2007).
  • Tied his career-high for rebounds with six, set against Campbell.

    Sophomore Daquan Joyner

  • Grabbed a career-high eight rebounds, eclipsing his previous high mark of five against St. Andrews earlier this season.
  • Scored double figures for the second time in the last four games.

    Sophomore Brock Young

  • Recorded his first career double-double. He is just the seventh player to have double digit points and assists in the same game.
  • Established a new career-high for assists with 11.

    Freshman Darrius Morrow

  • Recorded his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds, both career-highs.
  • His 12 rebounds are tied for sixth-most by an ECU freshman.
