KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) - Paris Roberts-Campbell scored 20 points and four other East Carolina players scored in double digits Tuesday to secure an 81-70 victory over UNC Asheville in the NIT Season Tip-Off Consolation Round.

The Pirates completed the four-game tournament with a 3-1 record and improved to 6-1 overall with their only loss coming against No. 6 Duke on November 19th when they fell 83-74.

Roberts-Campbell hit four of the Pirates' seven 3-pointers and finished 8 of 12 (67 percent) from the field. Prince Williams followed close behind with a career-best 19 points and Michael Zangari, Akeem Richmond and Caleb White all scored 10 each for East Carolina.

Despite being without the services of 6-10 sophomore Marshall Guilmette, who was sidelined due to injury, the Pirates dominated the glass and out-rebounded their cross-state foe by 14, 47-33. Seven of the nine players that participated grabbed five or more rebounds, led by Brandan Stith's eight boards. Williams swiped the glass for seven rebounds, matching his career-high.

The Pirates, who trailed for a grand total of 15 seconds, built an 18-point first half lead and held a 13-point advantage at halftime, 40-27.

Roberts-Campbell's fourth 3-pointer of the game gave the Pirates' their largest lead of the night, 72-52, with 4:05 remaining. UNC Asheville (1-6) managed to cut the 20-point deficit to eight after scoring 12 straight points with 1:30 left to play.

Andrew Rowsey scored nine straight points, making three free throws and a pair of 3-pointers to bring the Bulldogs within 11, 72-61, with 1:30 to go.

Greenville native Jaron Lane then scored the next five points to make it a three possession game with 58 seconds left. The Pirates responded by making 7 of 8 free throws in the final 53 seconds.

Sam Hughes led the Bulldogs with 21 points while Rowsey finished with 16 and Lane scored 13.
