East Carolina Head Coach Jeff Lebo
On Fayetteville State
"That was a good basketball team we played tonight. I don't care what division it was; they played pretty good. I thought we got better tonight. We came out and played with a little bit more tenacity and a little more energy tonight. They're a good team. They can score from five spots, they made 11 threes on us. We played a lot of zone and tried to keep them off of the foul line."

On Akeem Richmond's performance
"Obviously Akeem was unbelievable. He put on a show shooting the ball from three that I haven't seen in a long time. We could have use one more of those on Sunday. That's what he can do when he get's on fire."

On Marshall Guilmette's injury
"I don't know if he's done, but he's going to be close to it or possibly done. We're really decimated now inside without Marshall. We could not afford to have an injury at that spot, and we've got one early in the season. It's going to be a hard haul when we start to play the bigger boys. We're going to have to find a way to reinvent the way we play. Everything that we've planned on doing, I don't think we're going to be able to do now. So we're going to have to throw it out the door and kind of start over again."

On Antonio Robinson and Prince Williams
"Antonio's defensive rebounding was good. I thought he controlled the team better tonight. Sometimes it's Prince. Prince is so athletic, and when he can learn to use it to affect the game rebounding, affect the game on a defensive end, and be able to make multiple athletic plays he'll be fine. He's got to get in gear. His consistency hasn't been what I've been looking for. He's a good kid, he understands it, and he'll be back ready to work the next day and get better."

Senior Guard Akeem Richmond
On his scoring and shooting performance
"It felt pretty good. It's an incredible feeling, I'm really happy we got the win. I've been sick since after the UNCW game. I really haven't been able to sleep, and I was really disappointed in myself. I feel like, as a senior, that I really had to step up and that's what I tried to do tonight. I feel like I did that."

On breaking the record at home
"It felt pretty good. I got a lot of shots up before the game; maybe 300 to 500 shots. My shot has been off for the past two games but I shoot the ball with confidence and just keep shooting."

On continuing to attack throughout the game
"Coach told us this was a really good basketball team; it's not your average Division II basketball team. They gave us a run for our money tonight, so we had to just continue to keep fighting. With about four minutes to go we knew that we still had a game on our hand so we really just wanted to execute the offense and play great defense and that's what we did."

On the quick turnaround from the playing Sunday
"I'm glad we had this game. I was really down on myself when we lost to UNCW. I couldn't sleep or anything; I was really sick to my stomach. It feels good that we had a game two days later to get the bad taste out of my mouth."
