East Carolina vs. NC State

  • East Carolina won its first game against and ACC member after 57 previous attempts. The Pirates have posted wins over Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech in their history, but none while the two were ACC members.
  • The Pirates posted their first-ever win over NC State in 18 games. Tonight's game was the first time the two teams played in Greenville. All 17 previous games had been contest in Raleigh.
  • Tonight's attendance of 7,623 is the fourth largest crowd in school history. Its the largest crowd in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum since Jan. 16, 2003 when 8,056 people where against for a game against Louisville.
  • East Carolina used the starting lineup of Farmer, Hinnant, Gagnon, Jenkins and Blair for a third consecutive game.
  • Blair, Hinnant and Jenkins have started all nine games this season.
  • The Pirates made a season-high 10 3-point field goals.
  • East Carolina shot a season-high 55.6 percent (10-18) from the 3-point line.
  • It's 75 points was the fourth most points scored by ECU in the 18-game series history with NC State.

    Senior Darrell Jenkins

  • Moved into seventh place on the school's all-time assists list with 230.
  • His eight assists were th most ever by an ECU player against NC State.

    Junior Sam Hinnant

  • Poured in a career-high 30 points, besting his previous best of 25 points set earlier this season against USF.
  • Scored 19 points in the first half for the second time this season. He also netted 19 points in the first half against USF.
  • Is shooting 69.5 percent from the 3-point line (16-of-23) in the first half over the past five games.
  • He is the second Pirate to score 30 against the Wolfpack in series history. Tom Miller scord 32 against NC State on Jan, 15, 1970.
  • He tied his career-high for 3-point field goals made with six. He also made six earlier this season against USF. His 10 made field goals were also a career-high.
  • Led the team in scoring for a second consecutive game and third time this season.

    Junior James Legan

  • Converted the Pirates first 4-point play of the season.

    Sophomore Gabe Blair

  • Grabbed at least seven rebounds in a game for the seventh time this season.

    Sophomore Brandon Evans

  • Made his first 3-point field goal of the season.

    Sophomore John Fields

  • Grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds.
  • It was the fifth time in his career he grabbed double digit rebounds.
